Join the River Rats for a fun paddling weekend and raise funds for Team River Runner! Volunteers are organzing a four day paddling event in subtropical, scenic Ocala, Florida on President's Day Weekend (February 12-15, 2010).
For $150.00 you get:
4 days of paddling some of the most beautiful rivers Florida has to offer!
* Choose from the subtropical, crystal clear waters of Juniper Springs or Alexander Springs, the mysterious, black water Ocklawaha or the blue water, monkey hang out of Silver River.
* Lodging is at centrally located Camp Kiwanis. Set up your own tent or stay in a heated/AC dorm. Includes heated bathrooms, hot showers & covered, screened pavilion with a huge fireplace.
* Five catered meals, (breakfast-Sat, Sun and Mon and dinner-Sat and Sun).
* River maps and description.
* To prove you're a river rat, you get a beautifully designed T-shirt.
Nightly entertainment and activities include:
Friday Night: Award wining author Doug Alderson, www.dougalderson.net. Doug's programs specialize in interweaving education and learning with entertainment.
Saturday and Sunday Night: Tom Anderson and Alton Leonard along with the New Radio Ramblers will be entertaining us with a variety of music including Blues, Blue Grass, Folk and Americana.
